Carnon Downs Bowling Club is to be found in the village of Carnon Downs, on the left around 300m from the roundabout.
The club enter two teams in the local men’s leagues and one in the lady’s. We also play in a mixed league, which is an excellent way for new bowlers to start. Many friendly games are also played during the season, along with informal “roll ups”.
Members can enter the county, and national, championships if they wish. The club has several members who represent Cornwall and has enjoyed success both at county and national levels. The Carnon four won the English national championship in 2006.
The green is open from mid-April until the end of September with the rinks being available, weather permitting, every morning from 10am, afternoon and evening. The exceptions being when all six rinks are in use for matches, and Friday mornings for green maintenance.
Carnon Downs Bowling Club are looking for new members and would welcome anyone who wants to have a go at the great game of bowls. Just contact a member of the committee to arrange a “roll-up”.
